Kelowna bus driver threatened with gun
Police are looking for witnesses who may be able to assist in identifying a suspect after a man pointed a gun at a bus driver and threatened to kill him Wednesday.
Kelowna Mounties responded to a report of threats with a firearm at a bus stop on McCurdy Road East, at Craig Road, at 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
The sole passenger of the bus became angered when he was advised that it was the end of the line for the #11 bus.
The man exited the bus and began walking toward Rutland Road before he turned back, apparently drew a handgun and pointed it at the bus driver.
The man allegedly pulled the trigger several times, producing an audible click, and told the bus driver he would kill him.
The man then fled the scene on foot headed southbound on Craig Road.
The suspect is described as a five-foot-eight, approximately 45-year-old Caucasian man with dark, wavy, short hair. He was wearing a denim jacket and blue jeans.
Police are seeking two female bus passengers who may have been speaking with the suspect as it is believed they may be able to assist in identifying the man.
The two women exited the bus on Hollywood Road near Hollydell Road. They are asked to contact the police immediately.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the man is asked to call Kelowna RCMP Const. Walker at 250-762-3300.
