Trio charged with gang murder make court appearance
It could be some time before the details behind the gangland slaying of Jonathan Bacon are brought to light.
Alleged gangsters Jason McBride, Jujhar Khun-Khun and Michael Kerry Hunter Jones, who are charged with Bacon's murder, appeared in a Kelowna courtroom via video uplink Monday.
In a matter of minutes the trio were told they wouldn't need to return until Feb. 10, 2014. At that point, the courts will deal with further "procedural issues." Setting a trial date will be some time in the future.
The Aug. 2011 shooting left Red Scorpion Jonathan Bacon dead, Hells Angel Larry Amero and Independent Soldier James Riach wounded.
Also in the car was Leah Hadden-Watts, who had her spinal column severed by a bullet. She now has paralysis in both her legs, most of her upper torso and partial paralysis of both arms and hands.
Hadden Watts has now filed a civil suit against the trio facing criminal charges , as well as the companies that operate the Delta Grand hotel and the nearby casino.
Amero is now in jail in Montreal after being arrested there last year in a major undercover drug investigation.
