West Kelowna golf course suffers loss

Police are investigating a commercial break in last week after some heavy equipment was stolen from an outdoor compound.

The West Kelowna RCMP received a report of a break and enter and theft from the Ponderosa Golf Club located at 4000 Ponderosa Place, Dec. 21 at 12:15 p.m.

"Sometime within the previous three days, someone had apparently entered the secure compound and stolen several excavator attachments," said Const. Kris Clark, in a press release.

"The company's own excavator would've likely been used to lift the attachments onto a trailer as it is all very heavy equipment. A red 'Rammer' hydraulic hammer, a yellow and grey 'Stanley' hoe pack and a 'Wacker' walk-behind packer were all taken with a total value of nearly $70,000."

The hydraulic hammer itself weighs approximately 5000 lbs and is valued at $50,000.
