The annual Wendy's Dreamlift Day fundraiser has grown significantly over the past 20 years, raising more than $1.2 million to date.

This Wednesday, communities throughout B.C.'s Southern Interior will try to continue that trend.

The Dreamlift Day fundraiser runs from 6 a.m. to closing time at nine B.C. Southern Interior Wendy's locations in Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Vernon, Kelowna, West Kelowna and Penticton.

Coffee by donation will be available starting at 6 a.m., with regular menu options offered at 9 a.m.

The money raised through Wendy's Dreamlift Day funds Wendy's Dreamlift to Disneyland for local children who are challenged by severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.

Staff, management and ownership wages are donated, along with all restaurant and drive-through sales.

Last year $115,027 was raised.
