Hold on to your laptops, thieves on the prowl

Kelowna Mounties are looking to identify a suspect after a series of laptop thefts over the last couple months.

"Between Jan. 23 and Feb. 12 the Kelowna RCMP have received four separate complaints of laptop thefts and one complaint of a theft of an iPhone from various areas of UBC Okanagan," said Const. Kris Clark.

After a review of the surveillance video, police believe that the thefts are likely related.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • Early to mid-20s
  • Short brown hair
  • Typically seen wearing a dark hooded sweater, blue jeans and a black backpack

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. Remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net
