The sight of the Kelowna's Tolko mill belching out thick plumes of smoke has been a bit disconcerting to area residents.

Calling in to the newspaper, the city and, of course, the mill, area residents have expressed concern that the whole city was going up in flames. Rest assured, it's not.

"It's a controlled burn of wet wood," said a Tolko spokesperson, Thursday afternoon.

No word on how long the burn will continue on for.
