Due to an overwhelming demand for tickets, a second concert featuring singer Tony Bennett has been added to the Mission Hill Summer Concert Series at the West Kelowna winery.

Bennett was originally to do one concert on Aug. 1, and the tickets for his performance in the 1,000-seat outdoor amphitheatre overlooking Okanagan Lake sold out in 20 minutes.

As a result, a second concert has been added for Saturday, Aug. 2, with tickets going on sale at 10 a.m. this morning.

"We couldn't believe the demand for the concerts this year, people were literally clamouring to get tickets, said Anthony von Mandle, proprietor of the Mission Hill Family Estate Winery.

"We reached out to Mr. Bennett's management team to see if he was available for a second performance and I am thrilled that he has agreed to perform two concerts at Mission Hill Family Estate this summer…the only dates he has scheduled to perform in Canada this year."

As well, the second part of the summer concert series, featuring the Gipsy Kings on Aug. 24 has also sold out.

To purchase tickets for the second Bennett concert, call 250-872-5050, website www.missionhillwinery.com; Facebook at Facebook.com/MissionHillWine; or Twitter @MissionHillWine.
