Kelowna residents welcomed behind the scenes at RCMP demo day

Kelowna's Police and Policing Partners Demonstration Day got off to an exciting start Saturday as an RCMP helicopter landed on the library lawn.

Children and adults alike marvelled as the hulking machine gently landed on the grass and swung its doors open for visitors to explore.

The event showcases a number of police departments and the kids sneaking a peek before it officially had its 10 a.m. openingwere keen for the action to begin.

It's open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
