Photo story: Smith Creek evacuation underway in West Kelowna

Do you have photos? Here's the scene from Doucette Drive and the corner of Elliott and Smith Creek roads.

A command post was set up at the Smith Creek intersection as residents returning from work zipped in to grab belongings. Meanwhile, RCMP officers working the evacuation were going door to door telling residents to take enough belongings to stay a few nights away from home, but to get out quickly.
