A two-vehicle accident on Harvey Avenue in Kelowna this afternoon has caused a temporary backup of westbound traffic.

The accident involved a reported car fire that left a GMC Silverado pickup up against a light standard at Harvey and Hardy, apparently hit from behind by a Plymouth Acclaim sedan.

A woman was taken to hospital by ambulance for undisclosed injuries while firefighters cleaned up the debris around the accident scene.
