"Furious" Pete Czerwinski of Toronto (right) got the better of his speed eating opponent Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti of Chicago during a poutine sting contest in Kelonwa's Kerry Park Monday.

Czerwinski downed six glasses of mashed up poutine in just one minute and 36 seconds to win the event.

The contest was part of a promotion for Smoke's Poutinerie, which is visiting 17 cities across Canada in 17 days, giving away free poutine and showcasing the pair's speed eating prowess.

In each location, the two professional competitive eaters do something different. In Kelowna, as a nod to this being wine country, they first stomped the fries, gravy and cheese curds with their bare feet —as one would with grapes—before seeing who could drink six galsses (72 oz) the fastest.
