Main entrance to KGH temporarily relocated

Construction of the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre has resulted in the temporary relocation of the main entrance to at Kelowna General Hospital.

The entrance and roundabout driveway at the Centennial Building will be closed until Oct. 31.

During the closure, the main entrance will be relocated to the east side of the Centennial Building, directly under the Pandosy Skywalk where a new set of double doors has been installed.

This work is necessary to build a front entrance for the IHSC and tie it in with the Centennial Building, say KGH officials. It will also incorporate the turnaround and patient drop-off area with the new building.

New driveways have been constructed to allow traffic to access the temporary main entrance directly from Pandosy Street.

There is no change to patient drop-off at the hospital’s emergency department entrance on Royal Avenue.
