A motor vehicle incident on Tuesday afternoon left one person pinned under a car.

Emergency services were called to an incident that occurred in the IGA parking lot off Government Street at 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday.

“Apparently the lady who owns the vehicle was depositing boxes in the recycling when the vehicle began to roll back. Another lady tried to help to hold the car back, as well as the lady’s husband, at some point the lady who owns the vehicle got pinned underneath her vehicle. Penticton fire was able to use their lifesaving devices to get her out,” said Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth.

Firefighters pulled a woman from underneath a four door Mazda and put her into an ambulance. RCMP said they did not know the extent of the woman’s injuries at the time.
