UPDATE: Car careens down bank

UPDATE: 3:52 p.m.

A 26-year-old woman is recovering after her vehicle careened through several West Kelowna properties and into a fence.

According to Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey the woman lost control of her grey Dodge Caliber on Glenrosa Road as she was driving around a corner—sending the vehicle skidding across Liard Road.

“Thankfully no pedestrians were in the immediate area at the time and no persons related to the residence were harmed,” states O’Donaghey “Police would like to remind drivers slow down for corners and curves and always abide the posted speed limits and suggested speed limits.”

The Lake Country driver was transported to hospital for medical assessment and treatment of her injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening in nature.

While the Dodge sustained significant damage to its under carriage and was removed from the scene.

No charges have been laid at this time.

A driver was taken away on a stretcher after reportedly losing control of their car on Glenrosa Road.

Emergency crews were called to the scene and at about 8:30 p.m. on Glenrosa Road near Country Pines Gate.

The small vehicle left the roadway and landed in a back yard below.

The cause of the accident is unknown. The driver suffered unknown injuries.
