Those hoping to see British 80's pop band Culture Club in Kelowna next week are out of luck.

With just a few days to to go before the scheduled concert at Prospera Place, the concert has been cancelled.

Events and marketing manger for Prospera Place, Steve Bianchini said in an email the Nov. 14 show has been postponed due to "personal matters beyond the control of the group."

No further details were given and no new date for a concert in the city was announced.

The band's up coming concert in Edmonton was also cancelled.

Refunds for tickets to the Kelowna show, however, are available through place of purchase.

For those who purchased tickets over the phone or the internet, refunds will be processed automatically, said Bianchini. Those who purchased in person, and will be requesting a refund, will have to visit the box office with their tickets.

The band, led by flamboyant lead singer Boy George, has played a number of dates in B.C. of late, including a show at Vancouver's PNE in late August.

The UK band was popular in the 1980s with hits such as Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.

Anyone with questions about ticket refunds for the Kelowna concert is asked to contact Select Your Tickets at 250-762-5050.
