No residents were home when a fire broke out in a West Kelowna neighbourhood early this morning.

Just after 5 a.m. this morning, West Kelowna Fire Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire on the 1100 block of Peak Point Drive.

“The fire was quickly knocked down by responding crews from Station 32, 33 and 31,” said Fire Chief Jason Brolund.

“Damage was contained to the building of origin and no neighbouring structures were impacted.”

Brolund says no residents were home at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported to civilians or responders.

The scene has now been turned over to the RCMP. Fire investigators will support the RCMP and conduct a fire cause and origin investigation later today.
