FireSmart BC is eager to learn from the past when it comes to wildfires.

The organization is collecting photos and videos that capture the impact wildfires had on West Kelowna and the Shuswap over the summer.

The data collection is part of a post-fire research project to better understand prevention and mitigation, and make recommendations for designing wildfire-resilient communities, improving forest policy and practices, and designing effective fuel treatments.

Submitted files will not be shared by FireSmart BC without permission from the sender.

To learn more about FireSmart and the research project email info@firesmartbc.ca.

Photos and videos can be submitted at firesmartbc.ca.
