Kelowna Mounties contend with numerous break ins

Kelowna Mounties were kept busy Monday morning, dealing with a rash of vehicle break-in complaints called in over the weekend.

“There were up to 10 calls, from the Birch, Elliot, Cadder road, area,” said Const. Steve Holmes, during a Monday morning press conference.

Holmes said the thief got nothing more than small change and electronics, but they did cause significant damage along the way.

“Please take your valuables out of your car, so people will be less inclined to break in,” he said, noting four of the vehicles were unlocked, one had a window smashed to gain entry and the other two locked.

“Most people are just opportunists.”
