Kelowna’s Dilworth drivers can expect delays

Busy Kelowna road will be town up for the next three months as a water main is replaced.

Work will begin next week to replace  the watermain running under  Dilworth Drive between Omineca Place and Summit Drive in Kelowna..

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, two-way traffic will be maintained on Dilworth Drive from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. because of the work. Traffic will be reduced to single-lane alternating from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.

According to the city, motorists can expect delays and are urged to give themselves extra time.

The project is anticipated to be complete in December.

Because of the road work, the No. 3 Kelowna Transit bus may experience delays on its route due to construction during the work.  Go to bctransit.com/regions/kel for schedules and plan travel accordingly.

The $1.15 million contract was awarded to CopCan Civil Ltd. and is part of the city’s ongoing program to improve local infrastructure.
