A military aircraft safely touched down at Kelowna International Airport after making an emergency landing during the noon hour on Tuesday.

Just after 12:30 p.m., the airport received a report that a C130 Hercules with an engine out needed to land at YLW, said airport spokeswoman Jenelle Hynes.

The airport’s fire fighting crews were on scene, as were members of the Kelowna Fire Department, BC Ambulance Service and the RCMP, for the emergency landing.

The aircraft was able to land safely at 12:51 p.m. and no injuries were reported, said Hynes.
