UPDATE: Police locate man who went missing in Rutland

Police officers immediately responded to the report and extensively canvassed areas Gill was known to frequent. At 11:50 p.m. Mr. Gill was located safe and sound by members of the West Kelowna RCMP.

Kelowna RCMP is urgently seeking the public’s help in locating a missing Kelowna resident.

Gurjant Singh Gill was last seen Wednesday, sometime between the hours of 2 and 3 p.m., in the area Rutland Road North and Sumac Road East. Gurjant Gill, who is new to the Kelowna area, suffers from a personal medical condition and as a result, he may appear confused or disoriented, the RCMP said in a news release.

RCMP believe that he remains in the Kelowna area at this time. “An investigation is underway as police continue to search for Gurjant,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

Mr. Gill is described as a South Asian male, 41 years old, standing 5-foot-8 inches tall, weighing approximately 161 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a green Columbia brand jacket, a pair of blue jeans and runners.
