Skiing Big White’s Cliff on Canada Day

Kelowna - Big White Ski Resort takes some contest winners up to ski amid Canada Day celebrations

While the rest of the country gravitated towards lakes and golf courses, Big White Ski Resort took a group of lucky contest winners up to the top of the mountain to go skiing and snowboarding to celebrate Canada Day.

Guests headed up with Josh Foster, Big White Ski Resort’s Director of Snowsports, and went for several laps down The Cliff to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. Even Farley, Big White’s resident mountain dog, even went for a slide.

Despite being nearly 18 degrees at the top, conditions were still prime for a ski, with up to a metre of snow remaining in some sections of The Cliff.

Big White Ski Resort called it the highest Canada Day celebration in the country this weekend as they celebrated with a birthday party and cake cutting in the village and a Canada Day themed scavenger hunt at the top of Bullet Chair at 2,151m (7,057ft).
