The Kelowna Art Gallery and the Kelowna Museums are collaborating to offer a special day of children’s programming on May 27 during the teachers’ strike day.

To assist families facing the B.C. teachers’ strike, the Kelowna Art Gallery and the Kelowna Museums will be offering a fun day of learning, exploration, and hands-on activities for children.
Participants can be dropped off at the Kelowna Art Gallery at 9 a.m., and will then walk with adult leaders over to the museum. From 9:15 .a.m to 12:15 p.m. children will explore natural history, starting with dinosaurs and ending with birds and animals of the Okanagan.
The Museum visit will include a hands-on activity. After lunch, participants will walk over to the Kelowna Art Gallery for a fun afternoon of art and creativity. Children will have the opportunity to create art using a variety of materials, as well as the option of exploring the current exhibitions.
Parents will pick the children up at 4 p.m. at the Kelowna Art Gallery.
Children are required to bring two snacks, lunch and a water bottle.

9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. activities at the Kelowna Museums (this time will include snack breaks)
12:15 to 1:15 p.m. lunch at the Museum with play time in the Arts Common area outdoors between the Gallery and Rotary Centre for the Arts
1:15 – 4:00 p.m. art at the Kelowna Art Gallery (this time will include snack breaks)
4:00 p.m. pick up children at the Kelowna Art Gallery
