ALMA Pahl

ALMA Pahl went to be with her Lord peacefully on

Friday, September 18, 2009 at the age of 85. Alma was born to Adolf & Elsie Hubscher on July 25, 1924 in

Rozyszczach, Poland. She immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 4 in 1928. She did much of her growing up years in Swan River, Manitoba. Alma moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in her 20’s and worked there as a

seamstress at Stalls Sportswear. She met and fell in love with her husband, Waldemar Pahl, in 1954 and the two were married on April 23, 1955. They had three sons born to them – Brian, Duane, and Ronald. The Pahl family moved to Kelowna in 1968 and has resided in numerous

locations in this city. Alma had a real love of life for her family & friends, but an especially strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ whom she accepted into her heart at the age of 16 and was baptized shortly after. Alma was faithful to serve in her church at McDermott Baptist Church in Winnipeg, as well as Trinity Baptist Church in Kelowna since their arrival in 1968. Alma loved to garden, and it didn’t seem to matter what she was planting, it flourished. Be it a small annual to a fruit tree or anything in between, she knew just what it needed. In her earlier years, she

crocheted doilies to tablecloths, to aphgans. She was a wonderful cook & housekeeper. Alma is predeceased by her husband Wally in 2000, her parents Adolf & Elsie

Hubscher, her sister Erna Hoffman, and her brother Herb Hubscher. Alma is survived by her 3 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws – Linda & Katherine, 3 grandchildren – Jason, Derek & Megan, sister, Freda Kliever, her brother and sister-in-law Ewalt and Lena Hubscher, and her sister-in-law Irma Hubscher, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Alma had many friends and both they and her family will miss her very much. Funeral services held at Trinity Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 @ 1:30 pm.
