ANNE MACIBORSKI

passed away peacefully with her family by her side at David Lloyd Jones Home on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the age of 95.  She is survived by her loving family, three daughters: Eileen Cassidy of Kelowna, Janet Harach (Michael) of Red Deer, AB, Bonnie Penner (John) of Abbotsford, BC; son Jim (Joyce) of Sherwood Park, AB; son-in-law Patrick Palmer of Kelowna; 13 grandchildren: Lori Nabholz (Kevin), Lynn Barton (Iain), Tina Mac (Gordon Mitchell), Trent Maciborski (Laura), Shauna Mireault (Adam), Mike Harach (Bettina), Catherine Strachan (Cam), Jennifer Jasinski (John), Jeff, Ali and Mallory Penner, Marni Brown (Ken) and Mary Ellen Adrian; 20 great grandchildren; her brother Peter Ewasiuk of Kelowna; five sisters: Moya Sloan of Red Deer, Eva Szydlowsky (Joe) of Edmonton, Josephine Biriki of Trenton, N.J., Alice Saruk of Edmonton, Sophie Kahn (John) of Phoenix AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her husband John in 1979, her daughter Dianne Palmer in 2008, her grandson Jason Cassidy and her sisters: Jessie Maciborsky and Mary Shandro.  Anne was born in Chipman, AB on July 24, 1913 to John and Helen Ewasiuk.  She married John Maciborski in 1932 and farmed together in Tofield and Vegreville, AB until retirement to Kelowna in 1973.  A special thanks to the wonderful and loving staff at David Lloyd Jones Home and to Dr. Michael Bobyn who made Mom’s last years so comfortable.  Prayers will be held on Monday, October 20th at 7:00 pm and a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st at 10:00 am both at St. Peter & St. Paul’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1935 Barlee Road, Kelowna, BC with The Very Rev.
