Donald McLean  COLPITTS

passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side, Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba April 25, 1919, Dad was fourth in a family of eight children. Don was predeceased by the love of his life, wife Gladys in 2006. He is survived by his oldest son Garry Colpitts (Judy) of Calgary, daughters Wendy Turner (Dave) of Langley, Wanda Sheath (Herb) of Kelowna, youngest son Geoff Colpitts (Kathy), of Kelowna and his sisters Isabelle Bowles of Deep River, Ontario, and Bette Vokey of Winnipeg, Manitoba and 11 loving Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Dad & Mom brought their family from Flin Flon, Manitoba to Vancouver in the early 1950’s where he drove truck for many years. They enjoyed spending time with their family and developing new friendships. They moved to Kelowna in the early 1980’s and found the climate and outdoors suited their retirement lifestyle. Dad enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gathering firewood for his many “Very Warm” fires. Dad was an Airforce Veteran who loved vintage aircraft and any chance to fly. He will be missed very much by his family and many friends. No funeral by request. There will be a celebration of his life March 28, 2009 in Kelowna.
