Eileen Bouchard

October 5, 2017

Surrounded by her loving family, Eileen Bouchard passed away peacefully on October 5, 2017 in Kelowna, B.C. at the age of 94.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband, John and sister Betty and is survived by 3 generations of family: children Paul (Gillian) Bouchard and Carol Ludbrook, as well as 4 grandchildren (Jennifer, Andrea, Steven and Bradley) and 6 great grandchildren.

Born in Vancouver, Eileen served in the Canadian Women's Army Corps during WWII, acting as a switchboard operator in London, where she first met the charming Canadian soldier who would later become her husband of almost 70 years. After they married in Vancouver, John and Eileen settled in Richmond, BC, where they jointly operated Top Notch Electric, an electrical contracting business. Eileen volunteered with the Richmond General Hospital Auxiliary for more than 30 years before moving to Kelowna in 2010 to be closer to family.

Eileen will be remembered for her commitment to her children and unwavering support for her husband, who was her true partner in life. She was a playful, kind and tremendously thoughtful woman who enjoyed deep friendships and created a sense of richness in everyday life. She lived a full and long life, guided by the principles of love, family and kindness.

Eileen's family would like to specifically thank Dr. Michael Hopman, Cheryl and the staff of Glenmore Lodge for their loving care during the latter years and months of her life.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28 at First Memorial Funeral Services on Sutherland Avenue in Kelowna.
