SMELTZER, Ian Alexander Francis
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ian Alexander Francis Smeltzer on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the age of 81. Survived by his loving family: daughter Brenda Lynn Cherniak of Grimsby, ON, son Brian (Marv) Alexander Smeltzer of Kelowna, BC; grandchildren: Brett and Megan Cherniak and his brother Bill. He leaves us all with the greatest loss, along with the legacy of his unique values, views and entrepreneurial drive. Ian leaves great memories and reminders of the true values in these mortal lives. He always demonstrated that life is to be lived; never a dull moment or wasted statement. We, the family and good friends, love him. Thank you Dad, “Poppa Bear”, Grandpa for your life’s teaching and the “Ian” strength! A celebration of Ian’s life will be held on Sunday, March 5th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home Family Center, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
