Lyle (Rocky) Norma Rockwell

Lyle (Rocky) Norman Rockwell January 9th 1945

September 15th 2009 Passed away peacefully with his family by his side.  He is survived by his wife Nancy, who was the love of his life, his son Jeff and daughter Leanne (Josh Petrie). He is also survived by grandchildren Rahkeem, Hakeem and Emma, and his mother (Mary).  Lyle was predeceased by his father, and by his brother &

best friend, Dale. After a very rewarding 26 year career in the RCMP and a second career with Canada Revenue Agency, Lyle and Nancy retired in the Okanagan.  He spent many happy days in his garden and soon became known as “Tractor Man” in the neighborhood.  His two cats, Pepsi and Soleil, will miss following him around the garden he cherished working in every day.  To his many friends: take some time to reflect on a favorite moment that brings a smile to your face.  To the breakfast club (Jan and Norm Cornell, Bernice and Jim Demchuk and Marian and Norbert Stein):  thank-you for making our monthly get-togethers such a special highlight. To Heather Wilson: thank-you for being there for me when I needed someone to talk to like a sister. Thank you to Central Okanagan Hospice House

for providing a wonderful environment that allowed family and friends to have a final week filled with moments of laughter, sharing of stories, tears, warmth and family bonding.  The family wishes to offer a very special thanks to Dr. Larry Bobyn for his thoughtful and devoted care every step of the way. We would also like to acknowledge home care nurse, June Halter, who became more like a friend over the past two years. No service or memorial

by request. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lyle’s memory can be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, the Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior or the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting:www.springfieldfuneralhome.com
