HEPNER, Mary - It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Hepner announces her passing on November 24, 2016 at Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 87. Mary is survived by her loving children Ken (Karen), Brenda (John); grandsons Jeremy (Jennifer) Michael (Maureen), Shawn(Liz), granddaughter Alison., great granddaughters Chantrie, Mika, and Kalin. Sisters Charlotte,Emma, Olga, Doreen and brother Bill. Numerous nieces and nephews any many friends. Predeceased by her husband Henry (2015) the love of her life for 64 yrs. And her parents Jacob and Julia Mattes as well as several brothers and sisters. Mom was the kindest person who always saw only the good in everyone she met. She touched the lives of all those she came in contact with by way of a smile or kind word. Her life's passion was to be the best wife, mother and grandmother she could be. Family meant everything to her and her love was unconditional always putting herself last. Mary was active in her church singing in the choir and knitting for numerous charities. She enjoyed playing her guitar, gardening and loved to bake. Her cinnamon buns and pies were legendary and freely shared. A funeral service was held on November 29th 2016 at the Church of God, 3705 Mission Springs Dr. Kelowna BC.
