HELWING, Meta
Meta Helwing (nee Dykau) died on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the age of 93. She is now rejoicing in the presence of her Lord. Meta was born in Oborki, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Predeceased by her husband Simon, one sister Margerete and brothers Erich, Otto, Willi and Arthur. Survived by sister Lilli Thoms (Germany) and brother Herbert (Edmonton). Meta is also survived by her four children: Gretel Henseleit, Herbert (Al’deen), Reinhard (Helen), Barbara Rose (Tom). She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Richard, Angela, David, Daniel, Lothar, Richard, Kristina, Mark and Annette. Also blessed with fifteen great grandchildren: Talina, Conrad, Alex, Nicholas, Christina, Joshua, Anna-Marie, Joel, Andrew, Markus, Chloe, Thomas, Jackson, Elijah and Isabel. Her family was very important to her and she prayed daily for each and every one of them. We remember her for her love of reading, always wanting to be with her family, her hard work and her story-telling was especially memorable. She will be lovingly remembered as Mom, Oma Meta, Nana, Mama or Mutti. Funeral to be held on December 11, 2016 at 2pm from Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd. Kelowna.
