Letter: Politicians do a double lutz with our money

To the editor:

Well, Premier Clark has done it again. $100,000 to Skate Canada.

Skate B.C. would make it sound like the tax payers of this province had a hand in this donation.

I have an idea: Let’s send every mailing address in British Columbia a flag to fly on Canada Day, that way every tax payer will benefit from our money being spent by our government.

I wonder, if we started a movement and called it The Society For People First we could get a donation for the cost of such a program.

Am I serious, perhaps, but it is not hard to understand that most functions where there are a lot of people, you will find a politician.

The day after being voted into office they start working on being voted in for the next election.

Give us a break. You have a way to go yet on your People First platform.

Russ Lennstrom,

Kelowna
