Letter: Respect goes both ways

This is a beautiful city to be enjoyed by all and we should all respect that.

To the editor:

In response to Eugenie’s letter, Aug. 5 Capital News, Seniors Are Not Just Any Old ‘You Guys.’

I am not a senior, but a 53-year-old female (young at heart) who loves all types of music (old and new), shopping, dining out, and spending time with young and old friends.

I think it is nice to have music in stores and restaurants but it should not be loud. There is a time and place for loud music and that is in the nightclubs.

I agree with Eugenie in that many young people still treat seniors with respect but I believe that employers should make sure all their employees, young and old, are trained to communicate with all customers, young and old, with courtesy, respect and compassion. Having said that, customers should treat employees with the same.

This is a beautiful city to be enjoyed by all and we should all respect that.
