Liberal ‘propaganda’ called deceptive
To the editor:
The other night while watching Global News from Vancouver, the news broadcast ran a story on the homeless sleeping out in the open now that the temperature is falling.
Later in the broadcast came the Liberal ad about how well their government is doing for the populace under the auspices of B.C. has the lowest personal income tax in Canada and their job creation program for the future.
The ad conveniently neglected to mention user fees. My immediate thought was if they took the $15 million of our money that these ads are worth and instead utilized that money to provide shelters, food or even affordable housing for these people, it would have done a lot more good than the already well-off receiving these funds to enhance their lifestyles.
If the provincial government wants to advertise what a great job it is doing, let it come from the party’s campaign funds, not from taxpayers’ money. As far as I am concerned, it is campaigning no matter how they try to pass it off as job-related.
Has anyone noticed how fast our provincial government has distanced itself over the years from getting involved with the needy ever since food banks and other charitable organizations got involved to help out and supplement what the government used to provide?
I guess if one has a lame justification for something, it can be passed off on to the public, who have no say in that decision.
