Letter: Transit workers do a good turn for student
To the editor:
I wanted to write you this letter and let you know about my positive experience with the Kelowna bus system.
I am a 15-year-old in high school who has a part time job and relies on the transit system.
On Sept. 17, at 10:30 p.m. after finishing work, I took the bus from Queensway to the college and then transferred to the mall.
Once I arrived at the mall I realized I had left my bag on the Lakeshore bus.
I panicked and the bus driver of the No. 8, graciously contacted the bus attendant to come and handle the situation.
He met me right outside the mall, keeping in mind it is 11:15 p.m. by then. He was very friendly about what happened and answered all my questions.
The driver radioed the bus I had left my bag on and arranged a meeting spot at the college to get my items.
Once I had gotten my bag from the friendly bus driver, I walked back to the car and he drove me back to the mall again!
I wanted to submit this because I always see people submitting flack about the bus system, so I wanted to submit something positive.
