Letter: Job search program at KCR

To the editor:

I’d like to put in a word for a program that has been running at the Kelowna Community Resource Centre on Dolphin Road in Kelowna.

Recently, I had the privilege of taking a five-week course there for Urban Older Workers.

It was designed on the lines of a flight school and it is a very intensive and comprehensive course in which one soon finds out that even though you may be older than 55, there are still lots of paid things you can do out there in the Okanagan Valley.

Good stuff!

The facilitators have a comprehensive amount of combined expertise and are a very synergistic group. Not only do they teach you how to go through the process of looking for paid employment, they give you support along the way and a plethora of practise in various skills, including interviewing.

If you are interested in this course, call 250-763-8008  ext.122.
