Letters to the Editor

Letter: Label products, but don’t tell me what to eat

To the editor:

Re: Group Incensed Over Genetically Engineered Apple, May 29 Capital News.

To Tony, Teresa and all of their fellow members of the Society for a GE Free BC:

You do not speak for me so please scale back your efforts.

I fully support labelling which will allow individuals to make their own decisions. I cannot support in any manner people who want to make decisions on my behalf.

I personally do not care if they have four million signatures on a petition, I believe this matter [genetically engineered Arctic Apple] is for individuals to decide; thus, my support for labelling rather than ‘do-gooders’ who think they know what is best for me.

Al Batchelar,

Kelowna
