Letter: Temporary workers get a good deal here

To the editor:

Open letter to Amanda Poon regarding her letter to the editor: Shameful Treatment Of Migrant Workers (June 16 Capital News).

I disagree with about 99.99 per cent of your comments about the shameful treatment received by migrant workers.

The workers have their transportation and travel costs, a lot of their food and all medical expenses paid by the Canadian employers.

And, they receive the same wages as the Canadian workers.

Many of the migrant workers return on a yearly basis and if conditions were as bad as you say they are, they would not want to return to Canada.

Joseph Byciuk,

Kelowna
