Kelowna Chiefs drop KIJHL Championship opener

The Kelowna Chiefs lost 4-2 to Beaver Valley Wednesday night in game one of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Championship series.

Dane Rupert scored twice while Landon Andrusiak (2A) and TJ Dumonceaux each had assists in the loss.

Tyler O’Donnell faced 33 shots on net, in a third star performance

The Kelowna Chiefs and Beaver Valley Nitehawks will meet again in game 2 Thursday March 29 in Beaver Valley.

The series heads to Rutland Arena for games 3 and 4 on Saturday and Sunday.
