Chiefs in hole in KIJHL final
Dallis Calvin scored with 6:29 remaining in the first overtime period to push the Beaver Valley Nitehawks to a 5-4 win over the host Kelowna Chiefs Saturday night in Game 3 of the KIJHL championship series.
The Chiefs, trailing the best-of-seven final 3-0, face elimination heading into Game 4 Sunday night at Rutland Arena. Face off is 7 p.m.
Kelowna built up a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes on goals by T.J. Dumonceaux, Landon Andruslak, Kyle Clerke and Josh McEwan, but the Nitehawks rallied with two goals in the third period.
Nick Perez notched the equalizer with just 30 seconds remaining in regulation time.
Game 5, if necessary, will be played Tuesday in Fruitvale.
