Under-16 Girls

The Kelowna U-16 girls played their second league game of the season against the Shuswap Select U16 Girls at the Mission turf field on Sunday morning, defeating Shuswap 5-0. The first half saw the Kelowna girls control the play with excellent passing and strong defence. Casey Loudoun scored the opening goal off a throw-in from Cassidy Collins.

In the second half, Kelowna poured on the offense and played solid defense. Victoria Dauncey-Elwood scored on penalty kick to make the score 2-0 before Loudoun scored two straight and Jill Robertson added the final tally.

The Under-16 girls take on the Penticton Pinnacle U16 Girls April 29 at Kings Park in Penticton.

Under-11 Saints (boys)

The Saints dominated the Shuswap Under-11 boys for most of the game, earning a 4-0 win.

In the first half Chad Dumka initiated a play from the backline with a pass to Daniel Messent who made a great run on the right flank that ended up with the first goal of the game. Minutes later a free kick was awarded to the Saints after Nick Bigattini got tripped outside the box. Adrian Delgado took the free kick delivering a hard shot to the right top corner increasing the count to 2-0. Gregor Smith added the third and fourth goals of the match in the second half.

In the Saints second game of the day, Kelowna and Kamloops Under-11 boys team played to a 3-3 tie.

Patrick Donavan, Adrian Delgado and Brandon Frechette had the goals with Frechette's tying marker coming late in the second half.
