Back to back wins for the Rockets in WHL pre-season

7-2 over Victoria on Saturday night

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Victoria Royals 7-2 in Western Hockey League pre-season play on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

Seven different players scored for the Rockets, who improved to 2-0 in the WHL pre-season after wins over the Royals and on Friday night the Vancouver Giants.

On Saturday the Rockets jumped all over Victoria, scoring four times in the first period and cruising to the win.

Shane McColgan, Colton Sissons, Madison Bowey and Tyson Baillie scored first period goals while MacKenzie Johnston, Zach Franko and Colton Heffley also scored for Kelowna.

Adam Brown played the enitre game in the Rockets net to earn the win.

The Rockets now have a week off before playing the Kamloops Blazers in a home and home exhibition series next weekend. the two teams play in Kamloops on Friday Sept. 9 and in Kelowna on Saturday Sept. 10.
