It’s as if the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour was made for Madison Kapchinsky.

The 19-year-old carded a final round 69 on Tuesday in scorching conditions at the Harvest Golf Club to claim her fourth MJT girls’ division title.

Kapchinsky two-day score of 143 (74-69) was two strokes better than runner-up Haley Hewer of Penticton.

“Haley challenged me a lot, but I kept my head up. Haley is awesome to golf with,” said Kapchinsky. “My personal highlight is winning this four times. It feels amazing, this is my second last MJT tournament and I’m going to miss it.”

Kelowna’s Jessica Claggett tied for third with Rachelle Nelson, as both players finished at 154.

Surrey’s Charles Kim won the bantam boys division with a 142 score (74-68), while Kelowna’s Kristian Oppenheim was three shots back in second.

Bow, Washington’s Connor Atkinson won the juvenile boys division, while Kelowna’s Brandon Whistle (71-78) placed third.

In the junior boys division, Kelowna’s Lionel Taylor (70-73) placed third, two shots back of co-winners Austin Bosquet and Matthew Kreutz, both of Coldstream.

Meanwhile, a team from Two Eagles won the MJT’s Interclub Competition team event Tuesday at the Harvest.

Kristian Oppenheim, Tanner Marshall and Nik Federko took down Penticton’s club team (Kurtis Fontinha, Zach Gardner and Haley Hewer) by one shot to claim the title.

The Two Eagles threesome earns $500 for the junior golf program at their facility.

The next Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour stop in B.C. is the MJT Ford Series Aug. 11 and 12 at Predator Ridge Golf Resort.
