Promising results for Telemark juniors

Cross country racing team performs at B.C. championship, while two members compete in Europe

Telemark’s Mori Mayer competed in the 2007 boys division at the Tech Provincial and B.C. Midget Championships.

Over the last two weeks, 40 members of the Telemark Junior Cross Country Ski Team have achieved impressive results at home and abroad.

At the Tech Provincial and B.C. Midget Championships, the Telemark squad took home the third-place provincial team aggregate award.

The event concluded the BC Cup Series with top aggregate honors going to Finn Redman (2nd, Bantam Boy 2006), Jasmine Filatow (2nd, Bantam Girl 2006), Justin Siever (2nd, Bantam Boy 2005) and his older brother Garrett Siever (1st, Midget Boy 2004).

Gregor Graham won top honours in Midget Boys 2003, Connor Hobbs (2nd Juvenile Boy 2002) and Ben Shipley (3rd Junior Boy 2000).

Meanwhile in Europe, Telemark skiers Gareth Williams and Thomas Hardy had impressive results in a strong international field.

At the OPA Continental Cup in Zwiesel, Germany, Williams placed 6th in the Free Sprint.

At the Swiss Cup in Davos, Wiliams placed 2nd, while Hardy was 19th in the 10 km Classic Technique event.
