With two victories and plenty of key saves, Kelowna’s Michael Herringer has been named the WHL’s goaltender of the week.

Herringer backstopped the Rockets to a pair of victories in their first-round playoff series with Kamloops, posting a 1.00 goals against average.

On Friday, the 21-year-old Comox native made 15 saves in a 4-0 Kelowna shutout.

Herringer was much busier Saturday making 33 stops, many of the spectacular variety including a potential game saver off Collin Shirley in the second period, as the Rockets edged the Blazers 3-2.

Herringer and the Rockets are in Kamloops Tuesday for Game 3 in the best-of-seven opening round series.
