Rockets split weekend with Victoria

Kelowna drops 3-2 decision in Victoria Saturday night after win on Friday

The Victoria Royals defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 Saturday night in Victoria, splitting the weekend double-header between the two Western Hockey Leauge rivals.

Ben Walker scored a power play marker with just over two minutes to play in the third period, snapping a 2-2 tie and sending the Royals to the win.

Rockets leading scorer Myles Bell scored for the Rockets, his sixth of the season, while rookie Rourke Chartier opened the scoring with his third of the season.

Jordon Cooke took the loss in net for the Rockets who outshot the Royals 32-25 in the game.

After playing the majority if its games on the road to open the season, the Rockets return to Prospera Place this week for a pair of games.

Prince George comes to town on Thursday while Kelowna will host Brandon on Saturday at Prospera Place.
