Cooke stands tall as Rockets edge Everett

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Everett Silvertips 3-2 in a shootout Sunday in Everett, closing the book on a six game Western Hockey League road trip with a 4-2 record.

Goaltender Jordon Cooke stopped 39 of 41 Everett shots and both shooters that he faced in the shootout to earn the win, the Rockets second straight.

Zach Franko had the only goal of the shootout as the Rockets improved its record to 19-21-2-3 heading into a five game home stand.

Colton Sissons opened the scoring for the Rockets with his 23rd of the season while Myles Bell also scored, tallying his ninth.

Ryan Harrison and Reid Petryk scored for the Silvertips.

The two teams will meet again on Wednesday in Kelowna as the Rockets return to home ice at Prospera Place. It's a Walk-Up Wednesday game. Purchase a ticket at the box office or buy a Cross Check for Cancer Bracelet and fans will be entered to win a 2011 Kelowna Rockets Ducati Monster motorcycle.
