Rockets drub Saskatoon in WHL action

The Kelowna Rockets extended  their home winning streak to eight games with a one-sided, 9-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades on Saturday night at Prospera Place.

Myles Bell scored twice and added an assist as the Rockets came out of the gates flying, with Bell scoring his first goal just 28 seconds into the game. The Rockets led 5-0 after the first period and cruised to victory.

In winning its eighth straight game at home, Kelowna ties the team's longest home winning streak since 2007-08, when the team also won eight in a row.

Filip Vasko, Rourke Chartier, Colton Sissons, Colton Heffley, Jesse Lees, Cody Fowlie and Zach Franko also scored for the Rockets, who improved to 14-8-1-1 overall and 9-2 at Prospera Place.

The win also marked the 200th career win for Kelowna Rockets head coach Ryan Huska.

The Rockets now head to Everett for a Sunday (5:05 pm) tilt.

Kelowna will return to Prospera Place on Wednesday to host the Tri City Americans.
