Dylen McKinlay scored the game-winning goal midway through the second period as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Tri-City Americans 3-2 Wednesday night in WHL action at Prospera Place.

Myles Bell scored his team-leading 16th and 17th goals of the season to spot the Rockets to a 2-0 lead 7:30 into the first period.

The Americans bounced back with goals from Connor Rankin and Drydn Dow to square the game 2-2 after 20 minutes.

McKinlay, who was named the game's first star, notched the game winner at 10:37 of the second period, sliding the puck between the pads of Ams' goalie Eric Comrie.
