Rockets blast Royals 8-3 in first of two in Victoria

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Victoria Royals 8-3 Friday night, kicking off a weekend double-header in Victoria.
Myles Bell scored twice for the Rockets, his team leading 33rd and 34th goals of the season, as the Rockets scored five times in the second period to take a stranglehold on the game.
Tyson Baillie, Madison Bowey, Dylen McKinlay, JT Barnett, Ryan Olsen and Cody Fowlie also scored for Kelowna, who scored three times on the power play in seven opportunities.
Jordon Cooke faced 25 shots in earning the win.
The win improves the Rockets record to 43-15-3-1.
Kelowna leads the WHL BC Division by three points over Kamloops as the Blazers also won on Friday, beating Vancouver 6-0.
